Questions

Questions we get most

Do I need a permit, and who pulls it?

Panel and service changes usually need one. We file it where the city asks, and the cost is a line on the scope.

Will my insurer care about my wiring?

Some do, and the rules differ by company and house. Ask your agent. We cannot promise what a carrier will accept. We can write what we found and what we changed.

What happens at the visit?

One electrician opens the panel, tests outlets and looks at the cable. You get the findings as numbered circuits. We do not give a price on the spot.

What does a visit cost, and is it credited?

The visit has a fee, told to you when you book. It comes off the work if you go ahead within 30 days.

Are you licensed and insured, and how do I check?

Yes. The license line is at the bottom of every page. Look the number up with the board, and ask us for the certificate of insurance.

Do you do emergency work?

We do not run a night line. If you smell burning or see sparks, call 911 if there is fire. If it is safe, turn off the breaker at the panel and leave it off. Then call us in office hours.

What is aluminum wiring, and is it dangerous?

Branch wiring used in some houses from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s. The connections can loosen over time. The fix depends on the house, and there is more than one.

How do I send photos?

Text a photo of the report or the inside of your panel to (330) 555-0100. We still need a walk-through to quote.
